Happy second birthday, Baby Boy!

Last year, Von and I spent his first birthday on the road to Texas to go to Aunt Vicki's funeral. Obviously, it was a very difficult trip; in addition to our grief, I was pregnant and exhausted and not feeling great. Even though Von didn't know the difference, I felt so sad that we didn't get to celebrate that milestone like I had originally hoped. So this year, we threw a coffee and cupcake affair, inviting some of Von's favorite ladies over to socialize and celebrate. He LOVES the ladies, so it was perfect. The theme was "You Are My Sunshine," and everything was yellow and white. And instead of singing "Happy Birthday," we sang, "You Are My Vonshine," which we sing to him every night. He was a bit overwhelmed but had an amazing time. And Aaron and I certainly were overwhelmed by these friends who love us so well by loving our babies. Marmee sadly wasn't able to come; while we missed her, we felt grateful for this family that God has provided. Enjoy!

THAT is the smile that woos the ladies...he seems to have a secret: he loves you!
