Hey, Mr. DJ

Von has a pair of headphones that Papa lets him use. Sometimes he uses them to listen to music, but more often than not, he just wants to wear them around the house. On Halloween, he wore them over his parrot costume for a while--just not long enough for me to get a picture. Anyway, I love this little boy and his passion for all things music--including silent headphones. :)

Halloween

This year for Halloween, Von was a parrot. I was worried about whether he would be comfortable in his costume as it has a hood, and while he likes hats, he really does not like the hood on his bath towel. Anyway, after his morning nap, I put it on him, and he LOVED it. He wore it all day. We felt like he was too little to go trick-or-treating, but I gave him a peanutbutter cup--which he LOVED--and he helped Papa pass out candy to the other trick-or-treaters. He wasn't sure what to think about the festivities, but the other children all thought he was adorable in his little costume.

And then here is one of him seeing himself in the mirror in his costume. And then playing the piano, which is one of his favorite things to do. He especially likes when he can sit on Mommy's lap and play with her, although sometimes I apparently play the wrong notes and he moves my hands off the keyboard so he can play a solo. Enjoy!

More of our princess

I'm realizing that not only have I not taken a whole lot of pictures of Anberlin, I am not doing a great job of posting! If you're on Facebook, you've likely seen all these, but I want to make sure all of you see them.

She is a darling little angel baby, just like Von. So far. :) She still sleeps 4-5 hours stretches, nurses like a champ, and loves--LOVES--to cuddle. Von still adores her and comes running if he hears her fussing. And Papa is head over heels, of course. She is a delight!

Happy Apple Farm

A couple of weeks ago, we continued our family tradition of going to a local pumpkin farm. This year, we let Von out of his stroller--he was a bit unsure about what he was supposed to do and why he was supposed to be having fun. But we had fun watching him explore! And then he definitely had fun drinking apple cider afterward. We tried to get a family photo with all four of us, but our family selfie didn't turn out great. We'll try again soon!

Welcome, Princess Ann!

After being admitted to the hospital on Monday, I gave birth to our beautiful little princess on Tuesday, October 1: Anberlin Beatrix Rae. She weighed in at 8lb, 9oz, and measured 21.5 inches long. We had chosen the name Anberlin Beatrix when I was pregnant with Von (Anberlin as in the band, Beatrix as in Potter) and saved it just in case we ever had a girl. Then after my Aunt Vicki died this spring, we decided to name our little girl after her by using her middle name as a second middle name. We are calling her Ann, and she is just the sweetest, chubbiest little thing! Von even thinks so--he pats her gently, tries to suction her little nose, and gives her toys when she cries. He makes this really adorable, quiet clucking sound when he interacts with her and loves to point out her tiny ears.
Please forgive the pictures--the first two were taken with my cell phone and the lighting was not great in the others. She is jaundiced and quite yellow! I'll continue to try to get some better pictures of her as her color improves.
